Exterior Cladding or Skate Ramp?
After working out the technique and pattern of the screws with the L3Q team we attached one entire side of the paperstone exterior cladding. Nice jet black color eh!? It is called “skateramp.” Each panel is attached to a vertical wood batton creating a rainscreen . Now that we’ve got it all set up and going, and time is almost up, our client Leon may finish up the other sides...

We are in framing punch-list mode.

Week 10
The team returned this week well rested and ready to build America. With the help of some selective beard trimming Jake tripled his speed, strength and enthusiasm by channeling the spirit animal of marvel superhero Wolverine. Nate defied gravity by surfing SIP panels up a ramp and through the second story window. Travis muscled his way into Blammo history by transforming into the Human Crane and...

Raising Hammers
– Today we raised hammers to toast the setting of the last beam which represents the end of basic framing on the project. Tomorrow we “raise the roof,” literally. Way to go Blammo!
Week 8, Second Floor Walls, Columns
A very exciting week indeed. After raising the second floor walls (office + kitchen and bath), Blammo! jacked up the south side of the building and tipped-in the steel columns. The building is really taking shape now, sweet.
You mean I can stand under the building and it won’t fall on me?

Week 7, Beams, Stairs, Second Floor
Despite the record breaking heat wave, we made good headway this week. Beams were placed, stair stringers were hung, and the second floor joists and platform went in without a hitch. Whew, what a week man. Proper farmer tans are definitely taking shape!
Hot, Hot, Heat = 103 degrees!
– The hottest day in Seattle’s history and the Blammo brothers kept it going on the jobsite with the addition of a sun shade tarp and plenty of icey liquids. “Ain’t nothin’ gonna break’ ah my stride…”
Week 6, From Concrete to Wood.
This week we transitioned from concrete to wood and Travis Blammo! stepped into his framing outfit—cowboy hat included. The first walls went up in the art studio and there was great enthusiasm all around.
Just a reminder, when all the material has been moved, cut, moved, hammered,...

Building America!
Today, we powered through most of the remaining steel tying and formwork construction in preparation for the big concrete pour later this week. Travis contributed a tiny USA flag to the project and Nate summited the dirt pile laying claim to the peak for the glory of building America. Go Blammo! Go.
Just like shims, Blammo! has thousands of uses.
